Blogging from Down Under

Blogging for beginners

Is anyone there . . . . . .?

If there is then welcome to my first inaugural blog post. You will have to bear with me as I am new to this blogging lark and haven’t really got the faintest idea what I am doing yet.

Hope you like the name , I went through a few options and some even made it to the short list; one of which being ‘the Ripper diaries’ as in “you little Ripper” said in a strong Aussie accent but I quickly realised that this sounded like the naughty man from Yorkshire and I may get a whole different audience to the one I want on my blog, so the only way is melbourne is born!

The countdown is now well and truly on, 1 and a half days to go until I am leaving on a jetplane to head out to pastures Down Under. Very excited about the actually being there part but not quite as enthusiastic about the ‘getting there’ part. I have a 23 hour journey to contend with which is not pleasant at the best of times but doing it on my own with my very toddly little 16 month old will make for interesting times ahead.

Strewth mate I am in for a rough ride!

  1. Bonza mate! I moved to Manchester 10 years ago from Tasmania. Melbourne is amazing, and you will have a fabulous life there. I have done the journey twice now with my little man, most recently at 21 months and it was fine. Just make sure you have plenty of emergency buttons, a few toys, and more nappies than you think you’ll need. And just remember, you never have to see any of your fellow passengers again!

  2. Keep posting! It’s already looking great πŸ™‚

  3. Hello Hello! *waves like a loon*
I’M OVER HERE! Oh hang on a minute this is the web and though you are going far away I don’t need to shout…

Good luck for the journey there – may the force be with you and all that jazz!

Good to find you and welcome to blogging! It’s quite the wonderful place to be πŸ™‚

Hello, welcome to blog land! Good luck!

    • Thanks Merry, think I am going to need more luck to work out this blogging business than the actual move. Computers not my strong point.

    • Thanks, all our stuff has arrived but still going through neverending customs and quarantine so will be arriving at an empty house. Still at least it will be childproof, cant get more childproofed than an empty house, nothing to destroy.
