Blogging from Down Under

What my 3 year old said . . .

Good morning mummy, I recognise that it is quite early and you are still sleeping so I will go back to my room and read some books quietly until you come and get me.

Thanks mummy for that delicious yet healthy snack you have prepared for me. I will eat all of it up at the speed of a normal human and not take 15 minutes and 5 bites to eat 1 blueberry.

You are right of course, I do still need my afternoon nap, to be honest mummy I am not sure why I am fighting it, I will head up to bed now.

Absolutely, I understand why I can’t throw my toys across the room and yes I am in complete agreement that drawing on the furniture is also unacceptable behaviour, which is why you will never find me doing it.

I very much appreciate the time you have taken to make my dinner and yes it is delicious, yummy I think I will eat the whole lot whilst discussing how my day has gone.

I love broccoli.

Of course I should use my fork correctly and not stab my sister in the eye with it. I am sorry mummy I will use it to eat my food properly straight away.

Silly me, I know by now that if I don’t eat my dinner I don’t get any dessert I recognise now that this is the correct procedure and I will of course eat my dinner first with no fuss and no mess.

Oh you are quite right mummy I shouldn’t throw my food on the floor. That is as you say, quite disgusting. I will of course pick it up immediately and then help you clean the floor.

It is bath time now? Why yes of course I will go upstairs, just give me 2 minutes to clean up the toys that I have been playing with nice and quietly this afternoon then I will be right up.

I do realise that I need to take my clothes off to have my bath mummy so I will do that now and fold them in a neat pile just so that I can make your life a little bit easier.

Mummy I am tired, if it is ok with you I think I will go to bed now.

Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways today mummy. I really appreciate it, as I recognise that it helps to make me a stronger and more well rounded individual.

. . . Then I woke up
